German Expatriate Raufach Edgar 36, was yesterday murdered by his captors in Kano state. They had been traced to the environs opposite the new Campus of the Bayero University. Raufach Edgar was abducted on the 26th of January along the Zaria - kano express way where his company is located. He had been held in captivity with fellow German Filiz Gelowicz.
Mrs Gelowicz had been released two weeks ago after converting to Islam and adopted the name Uma Saifullah Al-Ansariya. It is not clear at present if converting to Islam had contributed to her securing her release. In all, It was a sad end to an otherwise overly optimistic bid to rescue Mr. Edgar. The JTF are yet to give a press briefing on the operation that went so horribly wrong.
